If liberalism makes an effort, the pendulum will swing back, but there cannot be any disingenuous expression to this effort. The same faux promises cannot be repeated.

This malfeasance of the elite disillusioned the masses—and it gave rise to a counterculture, which isn’t exactly conservatism in the traditional sense, though it borrows a lot from it.
