We lost. But we came closer to beating entrenched power than anyone has in this city in a while. We were up against basically unlimited money and the most racist, lying IE campaign I’ve seen in my time working Minneapolis politics. Here’s our story and the path forward. (Long 🧵)

Have you been waiting for a reason to give to @omarfatehmn.com? Here’s an opportunity! Like if you would donate $50 to Omar Fateh for this shirt. We’ll order these if at least 100 of you are interested!

Why do all my photos with Omar look like I’m yelling at him!? lol. See alt text for photo context.

From our doorknock yesterday!

Ive been doing campaigns in Minneapolis for over a decade. I honestly have not seen this many volunteers consistently show up for a candidate since Ilhan 2018.

This Mayoral election feels different.

Finally got a chance to go through @celiumbound.bsky.social’s photos from the Minneapolis DFL Convention. If you missed the news, Omar Fateh was endorsed! Check out me with my candidate and co-manager, @grfmpls.bsky.social!

Frey campaign message: Mayor Frey doesn’t [thing Mayor Frey is famous for]
June 28, 2025 at 1:55 AM
Yes, I’m excited a socialist won. And he’s a Desi. But the real story here is that a wife guy won the Democratic Primary for Mayor in NYC.

That’s the kind of representation I’m looking for.

The love of my life launched her 2nd reelection today! She’s incredible and you should donate to her campaign! secure.actblue.com/donate/aisha...

Almost 4 years after his reelection in 2021 and start of the Strong Mayor™️ era, today marks Mayor Frey’s first veto of legislation authored by a white Councilmember (@katiecashman.bsky.social). His opinion of women who disagree with him seems to remain unchanged.

Classic Strib. The words “Mayor” and “Frey” are not in this article about the failures of a department completely under the mayor’s control.

We need to be clear in how we talk about city admin problems, this is Frey’s failure. Frey is (not) in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Jacob Frey’s website still has an Election Day popup from what I can only assume is 2021 lol

Just 6 years ago, on the Raymond Dehn for Mayor campaign, I wrote a statement that included the phrase “disarm officers”.

We said what we believed. And at the time, we got skewered for it. Some say it cost us the election.

Today, the conversation has shifted drastically.
