They just seem like the two contenders for film of the year so far for me, but it’s also a useful test for the reception of MICKEY 17, which was positive but felt a little muted. Plenty of people might say they liked it, but how many more than SINNERS?

Coolest insight: Fundamentally, all we can know about another person is what they choose to show us. We can guess at their thoughts, but never really know them. Where we choose to place our trust is, for him, the essential question, and he thinks all his films are to some extent about that betrayal
