Going through my dad’s things, I discovered this ribbon. My Grandma won this from the Boone Elementary PTA for her Victory Garden during WWII. For me, it’s a reminder that gardening builds community, nourishes our bodies and allows us to support our family and neighbors in the simpliest way.

The 2025 gardening season begins! Growing seedlings for tomatoes, peppers and tomatillos. Lettuces, arugula and radishes will be planted directly outside now as they are heartier and can handle the cold temps. Much more to come! #backyardgardeners #yardtotable #chicagogardeners #zone6agardening
