Actually you and @natalie.sh should be good. I’m obsessed with domains. I’ve noticed that the new school tlds like (.dad, .xyz, .app) are the ones with ridiculous registry premium prices for short or one word domains.
.im and .vg are country code tlds and I’ve never noticed REGISTRY premium prices

Correction* I think the first year was $250 it’s $150/yr after. Still registry premium domain. .dad domains usually go for $10/yr

reposting my shame 😭 jk but it’s a registry premium domain, so the majority (in my case) is going to the registry that owns .dad not my registrar (porkbun)

This is what I dread about building a platform. People lack nuance when it’s something they hate, so does that mean I should ban people based on that or should I allow anything? Idk. This is gonna suck and people are going to be upset anyway.

I’m the same way, I want to do something, I’d rather build my own version of it so it solves my specific problems than use something off the shelf and hope it works as I expect.

But honestly most of the growth was just from others caring enough to repost my posts and mention us when long form niche issues are brought up.
Not terribly helpful but I hope this sheds some light into how I’ve been doing it. @nooki.me seemed to pop off when Jay from Bluesky posted about them.

But that’s dependent on others sharing those with their audience. I try to stay visible and reachable whenever someone mentions me or problems with services I am trying to solve/replace.
