When Amazon launched in 1995, there were 5,500 indie bookshops in the U.S., with 7,000 locations. By May of 2023, that number had decreased to 2,185 indies & 2,599 locations.

When you purchase audiobooks via Libro.fm vs. Audible, you directly support indie bookshops. Let's make that number grow ❤️

All of them, actually. If you'd like some suggestions: Clarkesworld Magazine, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, FIYAH, Uncanny Magazine, Lightspeed, Analog, Asimov's, Apex Magazine, and the Magazine of F&SF is a good starting point.

If you want there to be F&SF fiction mags, we need to do something now, while Amazon is removing their support. Check out one mag's website today and support them, if you have the means. Or just RT this if you can't, because the situation is pretty dire.

1) I’m going to make this public: for The Dark the loss of Amazon Newsstand effectively resulted in ten thousand dollars of revenue going poof, for the entire year. (Yes, that much!) I’ve made some cost-saving changes, but I don’t hold much hope for the monies from Kindle Unlimited . . .
