Almost anyone who has experienced an animal family member’s death has heard about the Rainbow Bridge. While I know this story provides comfort for many folks, it can be a bit prickly for others. In fact, I have my own complicated emotions about it!

One of the aspects I enjoyed most about my animal chaplaincy training was the emphasis on creating meaningful rituals for animals.

A new accomplishment to be proud of at a real frustrating point in time. Hoping to become a bright spot in folks' lives 🐾🤎
It’s official: I’m an ordained animal chaplain! One of my lovely critters, pictured here, as well as my dearly departed animal companions, sat as my witnesses on the last Saturday in June while I was ordained.

I made it through the year anniversary of my dad’s death and it was… weird? I’m a death doula/guide & I think I *still* had some hope that I’d feel better after the milestone passed, but damn it if everything isn’t just the exact same. Pre-moving, gardening, and cuties made it better, tho 💚

I recently put together a flier listing pet grief resources for folks who are in any stage of grief due to an animal’s death 🖤 You can find it at the link in this post! ✨🐈‍⬛✨🐕‍🦺✨

Nothing quite like opening your email to see two different subject lines, one after the other, reading "Trump Won't Rule Out Running for a Third Term," and "The Secret to the Best Pancakes" to really start the afternoon off in a very uncomfortable way.

Former outdoor cat Yule Cat is obviously unhappy with his new indoor setup. No chill at all.

All hail queen lumpy beagle who despite all the odds, is taking her sub-q fluids like a champ. You get those vital juices, girl.

Happy birthday, dad, wherever you are. We were too tired to go where we planned today, but still managed a nice time. I even used your tools to take apart a broken Blue-ray player.

Yule Cat is proving to be an exceptionally loving boy, which is why we are seeking an indoor home for him. We’d love to add him to our crew, but think he’d likely enjoy a home with a little less action. If you’re in KC and looking for a new friend, lmk! He’s an amazing guy and deserves the best.

Hi, y’all. Of course my first post is going to be about a cat because I can’t go anywhere without getting a new friend. This was my first successful TNR of the year. Yule Cat is well on his way to upgrading to an inside couch boy rather than an outdoor heated house boy. Great job, little dude!
