To be fair, there's been a general trend towards this for ages. I'm pretty sure it began as an aesthetic choice to make background characters (peasants) seem more miserable and to make the main cast stand out visually. But it does bother me, knowing what I do about clothing and dyes through history.

I'm really glad that you said that, cuz I was about to read it. I don't think I'm going to, now.

I'm a little curious about this sombrero situation. I think he means a dunce cap.

Sure, JD.

It has nothing to do with BlackRock and other hedge funds buying up entire neighborhoods. Or investment properties flooding cities so that no one can afford to live there. It's just the immigrants.

What a twit.

Also, not being allowed to teach race in the south is like not being able to teach people about snow in northern states.

I distinctly recall the taste of soap reading that. Which is what happened to me if I said nasty things to people when I was a child.

Think what burns me up most about this rhetoric is the absolute and utter disdain for the working class. Regardless of their origin, mind you. Which is weird, given his particular villain origin story.

My little man, Mordecai. He loved those little miniature tennis balls that squeak, and being in high places. And all the blankets. He adored blankets.

I wonder to what extent it has to do with power? SA always has its roots there, and the marginalizing of survivors just feels like a continuation of that need for dominance. And they can (and often do) say nobody will care.

A pox on both their [sic] houses.

I think I heard this phenomenon described as a moral creep. You keep telling yourself "it's just this one thing. Just this one time." Until all those one times add up to you becoming a horrible person.

Awesome if that's the case. Vlad doesn't need more people to torture.

Oh, that is one step closer to Annexation for them. I thought that Kazakhstan was smarter than that these days.

Are they going to stand in front of a big black SUV, raise a fist, and yell, "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!" on the way out? Because that would be par.for the course for those jerks.

I want to know if his position on the windmill vs bird dilemma remains unchanged, too, given the current political climate in Europe not allowing him to buy Greenland.

Oh, this explains SO MUCH. Napoleon Complex!

That's got to feel good.

Of course they do. The success or failure of a nation always depends on the women. If you control and repress them, you turn into a third world country very fast. But they're willing to let everything burn, so long as they rule over the ashes.

Fascism's draw is that it provides simple (read: wrong) answers to complex questions.
