Ann Arbor has committed to Vision Zero.

I am not really seeing it front-and-center in our transportation projects, at least not explicitly. In conversations, however, I am assured it is a priority.

Are we afraid to own it? Are we afraid of push-back if we use the specific phrase? #A2Council

“Virtue signalling” is good, actually. It’s how we show others what behaviors we believe to be acceptable in society. “Treat others as you would like to be treated” is virtue signaling.

This IGMFU attitude shouldn’t surprise me, but it still does when it is so blatant. It’s frustrating to see it taken seriously in our community. #A2Council

My favorite part about Option C is the ridiculous switchback to get up two stories from the tunnel to the elevated path which will guarantee nobody uses it.

Barbara here says the AADL is intentionally neglecting the downtown library building. #A2Council

Vote Yes on A and B. Don’t settle for an “adequate” downtown library.

Look at all the overlap already in the West Side (aka Water Hill) area.

Unbelievable how nasty some people can get over land-use planning. At least be decent, reasonable, have some respect for people, and discuss your disagreements in good faith. We should have learned this in Kindergarten, but some clearly have not. #A2Council

The amount of fear, uncertainty, and doubt being sowed in our community by bad-faith interlocutors in an attempt to discredit those who are urging #A2Council to be bold with our comprehensive plan re-write in the face of a severe housing shortage in Ann Arbor is astounding. Nobody wants “no plan”.

It’s an objection that I am particularly confused by. Four stories is a small step change in height over what is currently allowed. This is what gentle, incremental density looks like. And yet, people create slides like this to scare their neighbors into organizing against the comp plan:

These things are fucking stupid. Who designed this? #A2Council

I don’t think that’s the correct Erica Briggs.

It seems we took away a basketball court that was well used by neighbors when housing was expanded by A2HC. I’m OK with this particular park. I think we should consider selling off some parks such as Dicken Park.
