Traveling again tomorrow, so please prepare yourselves for photos from rainy Rio and stories about communities empowering the arts, culture, and heritage transforming climate ambitions into actions. Enjoy this pecan pareidolia in the meantime 🤪

Ran some errands this morning to get ready for next week's work travel, then spent some very needed time walking in the rain

Recentering this morning after many days away from home. Breathing and practicing gratitude for the experiences and knowledge shared with me in Milwaukee, NYC, and Barcelona.

Window seats make this geographer's heart happy. Heading home to San Antonio!

I have long suspected this truth, and regretfully I must confirm its veracity now that I have met my colleagues in person for the very first time - they are genuinely and unapologetically hilarious.

Yesterday was magical and motivating. Can't wait to share more about the Third High Level Ministerial Dialogue on Culture-based Climate Action - but first, more Barcelona joy!

Good morning Barcelona! Here for @uclg.bsky.social and @unesco.org convenings, of course championing climate action through culture-based solutions with so many of my favorite @climateheritage.bsky.social leaders and other amazing partners!

I'm on my way to #PastForward in Milwaukee! Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. If you're going to be there, let me know - I'm bringing these awesome @climateheritage.bsky.social stickers! And come see me tomorrow afternoon talk about "Old Buildings, New Tricks, Cooler Planet"

Cenizo, with its soft silver leaves and showy lavender blooms, aka the barometer bush. Let's hope this beauty I spotted today is a harbinger of more rain for west and central Texas tonight and tomorrow

Here's a picture of the typical purple blooms on a nearby mountain laurel in San Pedro Springs Park, just outside of downtown San Antonio. Believe it or not, the blooms have a strong scent reminiscent of artificial grape flavor - even the white variety!

Y'all!!! I found another white Texas mountain laurel! These hardy trees usually have beautiful purple blooms - this is the second white variant I've ever seen! (the other is in @hemisfair.bsky.social) #plantsky #native #botany

This is fascinating! I think this pepper variety grows in my central TX backyard along the fence line - can confirm that we harvest from wild, seeds spread by birds, use it to add some heat to our tamales. We had a hard, long freeze this month and it's still going!
