I mean I liked the retroactive continuity of the Craig era for the most part, but yeah Bond really doesn’t need a serialised arc in the manner of other franchises at all. Just tell a good story and let us feel like the guy is developing.

I think they’ve realised they’re onto a loser there. I don’t feel any burning desire for another one of those. But they’ve never been brave enough to do a Trek film without familiar characters or settings. Not sure they’ll start now.
