I’ve got Don Newton in my head, too, although he seems terribly unappreciated for his body of work.

After searching for several years, I finally found a reasonably priced copy of the Dark City novelization in terrific shape. At the same time I stumbled across Gary Provost’s interesting book, 100 Ways to Improve Your Writing. Sometimes the mail brings wonderful things all at once.

Promethea 1 is one of my favorite first issues, launching one of my all-time favorite comics.

We're just back from Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere. Jeremy Allen White makes a very believable Boss and delivers an intimate portrait of the artist on the verge of superstardom. This film is not for everyone the way Nebraska is not for everyone.

Superman (Pasko/Swan/Springer) was the one that did me in, I think, because of the JLGL cover. I read it to pieces and have rebought it a couple of times. I also had a slipcase edition of the Origins books I got the Christmas before. I've always loved comics from this point on.

It hurts to write this, so not much now, but Rest in Peace, Spaceman. You inspired me and so, so many others. You’re always in The New York Groove.

Novel update: I'm in the home stretch and the last chapter was way too much fun to read. Very few revisions, except for clarity. This is a picture of how I feel about it.

I put this out on another platform a couple years back, but I’d like to believe that Derol from Glass Onion is Trooper Wagner from Knives Out, only undercover. I really want that character to have a real link to Benoit Blanc.

Just learned that both Percival Everett and Nnedi Okorafor are going to be in KC in October. Everett's event is sold out but I registered for Okorafor's.

This wonderful documentary on Art Spiegelman is a terrific reason to support PBS. Today I learned that Art did baseball card art that was finished by Wally Wood. Phenomenal portrait of the artist.

Can't tell you how many times I dropped the needle on this and just listened with a stack of comics on a Saturday afternoon back in the day. One of my all-time favorite live albums. How about that Neon Park artwork?

Also, Terence Stamp has passed. Yes he played an iconic villain that haunted him every day after, but that wasn’t his ONLY role. IMDB says he’s known for The Limey which was great, but how about Priscilla Queen of the Desert? Here’s one he was most dapper in:

This round of revisions has me almost as excited as the first draft did. That's a good sign, right?
