It's not dead, that's all I'll say for now. If I start giving timeframes I'll just miss them so...one day!

It runs well! I'll note that I didn't see extensive options for things like lighting and global illumination. There were only options for dynamic and screen-space reflections. You'd obviously have a better sense of what is going on under the hood, but I think the result looks great.

bonus points if the direction/city/state combo is something nobody has ever said before, like "he's a cool guy from central rhode island"

This looks so good! Crazy smooth for GBA—puts Virtua Racing with the SVP chip to shame. Less polys being pushed but I think that’s the right move considering how much nicer this would feel to actually play.

Things I learned:

• I don’t think Sega Touring Car is any better in arcade
• 500 GP is very cool looking but unplayable—just play MotoGP on PS2
•Dirt Dash is actually the best arcade racing game Namco never ported home and better than most Ridge Racers, honestly
• Thrill Drive is SO entertaining
