Infographic detailing the chemistry behind four kitchen chemistry hacks. The first is slowing fruit browning. Fruits brown due to the oxidation and polymerization of phenols. Adding acids, such as lemon juice, wrapping the fruit in cling film or otherwise blocking oxygen slows browning by reducing the activity of the polyphenol oxidase enzyme.

Previous years of chemistry themed biscuits for my research group/collaborators. Any ideas for what to do this year?? #chemsky
Chemistry themed biscuits in the shapes of beakers, conical flasks and benzene in different colours (red, green and blue). Personalised chemistry themed biscuits for members of my research lab. The biscuits are all cut in square shapes and are decorated in purple, green and red icing. A lot of them have different chemical structures of organic molecules drawn on them. Chemistry themed biscuits in the shape of benzene arranged to make two helicenes that are mirror images of each other. Chocolate biscuits with white icing to draw the double bonds. Chemistry themed biscuits in the shape of lab coats each personalised with names of members in my research group and chemistry related inside jokes.
