Currently writing my first novel: an urban fantasy steeped in Irish mythology for YA readers. Donegal-dwelling bodysurfer, baker, hiker, and mountain biker.
This also got a 9/10 from the 11 year old. A little more teenage but it hit a chord with him, I think. It is a quirky, beautiful look at the exquisite horror of social anxiety.

My eldest is 11 and reading for pleasure has dropped off massively in the past year. I still read to him and his little brother at night and we listen to audiobooks on car journeys which he loves. Recently he picked this up in Waterstones and has devoured it, cover to cover in a matter of days.

I know The Roses is a dark comedy but that's not how EpiPens work. 😬 You don't inject them in the arm. They don't always work. And you still need to go to hospital for 24hours of observation due to the risk of secondary anaphylaxis. 🗣️📣 In the thigh people! You inject into the thigh!

There is something so healing in spending time amongst the trees. It's almost impossible to be in bad form after walking in a place like this.

Had a lovely visit to Wild Ireland this morning with the weans. If you've never been, you should check it out. Beautiful way to while away a morning. #Donegal #Ireland

The local Wildlife Park, that rescues animals from all over, is celebrating it's 6th anniversary with a €6 entry fee for today so I'm off to see these beauties later this morning and can't wait.

@louiestowell.bsky.social Last night I came dangerously close to being squished to death by an 11 year old and a 9 year old attempting to make me the bread in their open sandwich because I stopped reading Loki: A Bad God's Guide to Ruling the World on the Day 17 cliffhanger 😱

I watched Katla during Lockdown and found it quite absorbing. As far as movies go, the most frightening thing I have ever watched is Pan's Labyrinth 😬

There is is again! The weird belief that food allergies are a political statement by the left-leaning. A sign of moral weakness. The comments on this article are appalling.

Lovely haul from Grandad's garden put to good use. Just hits the spot perfectly after a family Saturday surf 😋

I saw Weapons last night and am honestly at a loss to understand how it is so highly rated. Maybe I'm just getting to old for horror movies. Unless of course it was meant to make me laugh through all the scary, gory parts.
