Currently writing my first novel: an urban fantasy steeped in Irish mythology for YA readers. Donegal-dwelling bodysurfer, baker, hiker, and mountain biker.
Thought I'd be all organised and get my Christmas pressies bought early. Now I am chasing parcels in limbo in what I can only assume was a Fastway delivery gone AWOL. Endless automated chatbot conversations later and still no parcels. Kill me now.

It's wild to see Irish and British commenters smugly congratulating themselves for not sliding down the same slippery political slope as the Americans. As if they consider such stupidity beneath us. They can't see we're already standing at the top of the slide, eager to jump on.

And this, right here, is why I hate flying with an allergic child. Why do people laugh at parents trying to inform others of their child's life-threatening medical condition? Why don't they believe food allergy is real?

Exclusive: A 3-year-old girl was hospitalized after a Qatar Airways flight attendant allegedly served her a Kit Kat bar, despite being told the child was severely allergic to dairy

This also got a 9/10 from the 11 year old. A little more teenage but it hit a chord with him, I think. It is a quirky, beautiful look at the exquisite horror of social anxiety.

My eldest is 11 and reading for pleasure has dropped off massively in the past year. I still read to him and his little brother at night and we listen to audiobooks on car journeys which he loves. Recently he picked this up in Waterstones and has devoured it, cover to cover in a matter of days.

“Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. Books are proof that humans are capable of working magic."

The government make endless comments about the housing crisis and the need to build family homes but do they ever consider the need for small, safe, quiet, accessible bungalows surrounded by good infrastructure so the elderly can move out of the giant 4 bed mansion they no longer need or want?

Hello it's me the leader of the party full of landlords that has been in power your whole adult life and created the housing crisis we now refuse to resolve.

I'm here to tell you it's actually the foreigners' fault.

Who are these people telling us it's 'pro-rural' to be in favour of being allowed to keep on turning our rivers and lakes into stinking, dying, open sewers for private profit?

Oh, just a Fianna Fáil MEP.

That eejit who gave the interview about the meteor strike on Portmarnock beach must have left Dublin because of all the slagging and moved to Clare.

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

I know The Roses is a dark comedy but that's not how EpiPens work. 😬 You don't inject them in the arm. They don't always work. And you still need to go to hospital for 24hours of observation due to the risk of secondary anaphylaxis. 🗣️📣 In the thigh people! You inject into the thigh!

Very disturbing interaction with a trick or treater last night - a man accompanying his young daughter- started giving out about the 'fucking Ukrainians' coming behind them and suggested I should hand them out laxatives. They were two little girls aged 5 or 6. What the hell is wrong with people?

Why is it always men who go trawling through your bio for a personal attack as a means to 'winning' their argument (which you only ever considered a conversation)? It's such odd and creepy behaviour.
