Israeli, leftist, Jewish, Tel Avivi. Actually not really political but, you know.

TL;DR of my opinions?
Stand with Israel
Protect the Palestinians
Stop Hamas.
Peace ☮️
The thing with the timing/context of the protests. 🧵

Here's an allegory. It was hard to find a good one so it's mediocre...

Telling people that trees are good and shouldn't be removed is a good thing, right?

PSA: Intifada.
Which some take to mean "revolution".

Organically, words change their meanings over time. Much like symbols - if you graffiti a swastika on the street nobody will look at it and say "oh my, a symbol of divinity in India and other places, how lovely!".

Communication units evolve. 🧵

Question.
These people protesting "pro Palestine" when it's actually antisemitic
Are they really underinformed like it seems? Or do they really hate Jews?

Because they've used so much nuance and empathy in other protests and now it's "intifada" and in one case "gas the Jews".

I visited the area of my old school from the early 1990s, and saw this.

I was a child in Tel Aviv during the Gulf War, old enough to know what's going on, to understand what a missile siren means, run to shelter and wear my gas mask.

Kind of disturbing in retrospect, I guess.

Now, I write long posts. No idea why. It's just either very laconic or long usually. And that's alright (memo to self, expand on that).

I recently had the urge to write about the worldwide pro-Palestinian protests, from the PoV that wants everyone to live happily, and that knows more than usual. >

Thread from my other account.
It's about the "river to the sea" phrase and why it's actually antisemitic.
If you've used it and didn't mean that, that's alright, now you know. But someone has been using you and it's important to realize that.

PSA: The "from the river to the sea" is actually promass deportation / annihilation of around 7-10 million Israelis (depends who they count as Jewish)

I know you mean well. Freedom is indeed a nice thing. This, however, isn't it, and you using it could encourage people who see it otherwise. 🧵
