Looked a lovely elegant playmaker of a player on loan at Palace, and England cameos, before more British Bulldog at Chelsea, while our midfield needs not only strengthening but also furthering forwards. For all encouraging intensity and impetus of our second half display, showing we do have good players who can play, including signings - Paulhinha, Simons freed - shows up all the more the manager's shortcomings, that first half incarnate plus his subs hardly helped. Season over.

"Only" six years and yet an immense record of records. A mighty band, suitably mighty drummer. RIP Rick Buckler.

Bought this way back when (albeit a decade after their sudden split), and not too far from (A Bomb In) Wardour Street, primarily for the chords - yet kept coming back too to the cuttings. "Only" six years and yet an immense record of records. A mighty band, suitably mighty drummer. RIP Rick Buckler.
"Small pleasures"? Large measures. Admirable latest London "Oliver!" in its early scenes, yet really suddenly transforms mid-song mid-way through the first half, on reaching London in some stunning staging - pick a pocket for tickets, you should buy this wonderful feeling etc etc. Ever a pleasure...
