TLDR; The PSF has made the decision to put our community and our shared diversity, equity, and inclusion values ahead of seeking $1.5M in new revenue. Please read and share. pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/10/NSF-...

Late night severe storms with the possibility of a tornado, just lovely. At least I don't have an exam in the morning.

That emergency alert I got today has a description very close to the requirements for an Amber alert. Yet it was not an Amber alert, but instead a Law Enforcement Warning. Especially when the headline of the alert is "Endangered Missing Juvenile", that is insanely close to an Amber alert.

I forgot that I have no classes on Friday.

Storm chasing is the only reason why I would not sell my car if I move abroad.

The government shutdown countdown page on the white house website is so poorly coded that one countdown uses local time while the other uses UTC-4. Makes me want to facepalm myself so damn hard.

I was reminded today that cars are death machines. It is insane that you need one to do anything in this country. Makes me want to move somewhere with better public transit.

This country is doing everything it can to make me want to leave.

It has been 8 months since inauguration, it feels like it has been much longer.

Of course this happens while my parents are remodeling their house.

For a department called the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, they really did not need to send out a "Local Area Emergency" to the entire state. Those get classified on a Verizon iOS device as an Emergency Alert, not a Public Safety Alert.

I just want to survive long enough in this country to get my degree. Until mid-May 2027, that is it. I have been working towards my degree for 4 years, there is zero reason for me to stop.

Spent 3 hours trying to figure out why the internet at my parents house died, only to find out that it was not our mesh system or our provider. It was instead the SIM in our 5G home internet router that decided it was a good time to erase itself. No SIM, no internet.

Somehow, the CS class I am taking has zero equivalencies across every institution in the entire country. Not even MIT has an equivalent transferable class of the class I am taking. The projects are explained very poorly, to the point you use GitHub Copilot to figure out what to do.

My CS professor has some outlandish expectations of my class's knowledge of C++. They did not teach the basics of C++ because they assumed that it would be easy to go from Java to C++. I can already feel this CS class turning into the most annoying one to deal with this semester.

I have been awake since 3 am because of this. It will feel so good to pass out later.
Something I have been waiting 5 years for got announced earlier today. I am extremely excited for it to be released next year.

Working for a certain content creator agency in Japan as a weather forecaster is my dream now. I have never heard of a content creator company having a meteorologist on staff.
