I hate it when I see a non-native English speaker ask for their accent to be excused, most foreigners with a "little" English speak the language better than us natives, and accents are a small window on the world, often really pleasant to hear too, please don't feel the need to apologise!!!

I mean I've fantasised about being glued into a cup since I learned that they're a thing!
