I'm here because there's got to be a better way forward than what we're being offered. I think places like this—reinventions of how we know online interaction should be—are likely to generate the necessary alternatives. I'm here for that!

Iran has one of the most beautiful film cultures in the world w/among the most courageous & committed filmmakers. It was a cultural hub - it's worth looking into who overthrew their democratically-elected government when it refused to cede oil rights to the UK & installed a radical quisling puppet.

Usually when states go to court alleging federal coercion in violation of the 10th Amendment there is not a literal video of the President doing it.
TRUMP: The NCAA has complied immediately. That's good. But I understand Maine -- is the governor of Maine here?

JANET MILLS: Yeah I'm here

TRUMP: Are you not gonna comply?

JM: I'm going to comply with state and federal law

T: You better do it bc you're not gonna get any federal funding at all

I am a former incarcerated firefighter. I served in a California fire camp from 2009 to 2012.

Misinformation is afire on the internet, so here are facts about the prison firefighter program, all in one place.

A thread.

Mark these words. The next 4 years will not be some easy walkover for MAGA.

They don't have anything to offer the American people except scapegoating.

Resistance may seem remote now, on 28 Dec 2024, but remember the lesson of Assad: Sh*t can change REAL quick.

Trump. has. nothing. to offer. the American. people.

Cut programs that help working people? Tariffs raising prices on everyday things? Going after immigrants & trans people, at what benefit to the communities they live in?

Not going to be so easy as they think.

Biden/Harris 2020: 81,283,501 votes.

Beating Trump 2024 by about 4m votes.

Trump's victory is a mile wide and inches thick.

The rightshift = dissatisfaction w the status quo, not an endorsement of MAGA.

Good luck lowering grocery prices w tariffs, buddy. America will soon see you made it all up.
With California's votes now certified, this appears to be the final popular vote count. The margin of 1.47 percentage points is the smallest since the 2000 election. Kamala Harris received over 75 million votes in this election.

This speaks to me, as a New Englander with plenty of rural blue around.

@adamkinzinger.bsky.social this feels less like a profile in courage and more like a look back to the way politics used to be.

Perhaps what you are saying is that this is the courageous way to be now? Not sure I agree, but open to listening.
Mitt Romney, in his quiet way, has always been radical- a role model for public service who defied partisanship. My latest:
