Would be nice if it didn't compound them. As in: actively supporting a genocide and dropping bombs to (not) kill a nuclear program that isn't near completion and wouldn't exist without the continued interventions of the US.

We may yet get to the point where we have to be this blunt.

A golden dome is much more impressive, but also much more expensive and much less effective protection than an iron dome.

Nobody 'took heart'. Everyone knew that there was no chance for peace, otherwise they wouldn't have waited for Trump.
But Trump forced European leaders to waste their time and efforts: if talks had failed and they hadn't tried their hardest, the narrative would have been that they didn't want peace.

That's literally the scenario I brought up when my American Government teacher said she's happy she's got a gun when she's home alone and the dog needs to go out.
I told her I don't want her to have a gun when she happens to let the dog out while I'm approaching her door to ask for directions.

Lutnick dreams of a future in which most Americans do unskilled work, working at the same factory their entire lives.
We've tried that. It put workers at the mercy of their industrialist employers. It lead to poverty and two world wars. But yes, industrialists lead comfortable lives while it lasted.

These whitehouse.gov proclamations have been coming up in my Google News feed. Is it even possible that non-MAGA conservatives don't pick up on their cringe?

This, but replace Habeck, Scholz with Weidel, Wagenknecht... whose parties Merz, Lindner just made their bed with.

Germany's likely next Chancellor is sowing wind. At a press conference, he said "[As we are speaking] there are perpetrators roaming the streets of Germany, like the one [killing two people] yesterday. We will end this."
The thing is: it's totally unclear what he means. 1/?

Yes, that would have been funny. Not cruel but certainly unusual punishment, though.

"Returners to Syria could cause problems for [German] hospitals." I choose to believe that this is just bad wording and T-Online isn't really trying to blame Syrian doctors and nurses for the labor shortages they stop alleviating when they go back.
