I remember liking Herta & Cyrene’s parts of the build up but the Traiblazer & the Chrysos Heirs not so much. However I must say now that I’m finally done with that, it seems to all be converging toward something real cool so I’m not complaining too hard so far 😁

OKAY I’m done with Charon’s story. It’s probably my favorite character story since Liang Yue’s all the way back in 2.5, it’s extremely depressing but it’s such a strong companion to the themes of the main story. (1/?)

This story is really giving me the haunting feeling I felt Charon sometimes lacked in the main story. It was still there to an extent, but I was surprised at how humanized and even silly he seemed in some interactions.
The slow pace really helps setting up his vibe here I think maybe.

Part 4 was interesting. I guess the point was that this metaphorical barrier between the trenches and civilian life is both porous and impassable. What I assume to be Partita’s slow descent into violence is contrasted against those idealistic yet necessary idols of wartime womanhood.
