I told my family same, and I have left for Japan. Okinawa is beautiful. But I don't think your claim that "there is no limit to the depravity" is rational. Why? Because we cannot predict the future, especially in times of radical uncertainty. And to make such an assertion is emotion, not rational.

History never repeats itself in with the same face, but patterns do exist. Fascism, while difficult pin down precisely, does manifest certain patterns. The fascism seen in today's Trumpism is not the fascism of old, but it does indeed repeat some of its themes and patterns.

To claim that what is happening today is the same as what has come before is naive at best and willful ignorance (a.co/aHO3ik0) at worst. Blindness or carelessness to historical fact, to historical specificity, whether from the left or right, is anti-intellectual. And Autism is no excuses.

I know. I am in a state of mind I don't have words for. This could have been my wife or my daughters ... our neighbors. Any family that is mixed race and looks the wrong color are potential victims.
