This post had me interested enough to look up all-time record holders. Looks like it’s likely some manga artists, but for the “Big Two” the penciling record is Curt Swan with 18865 pages over his lifetime.

(Not comparing! Just interesting!)

Even attaching performer names to their on-stage location as they moved around.

The effect of a fully lit stage with no performer shadows was surreal.

Who is the Sky takes that concept and applies it to a complete and immersive whole stage video (not projection).

At times attaching the whole video to specific performer real-time movements.

David Byrne’s "Who Is the Sky?" Tour is very much a sequel to American Utopia. Taking the performance concepts and expanding on them to build something new.

American Utopia had performer tracking for automatic spotlight movements.

HOLY COW.

If you told me a 73 year old would headline the most technologically advanced, visually stunning shows I’d ever seen I would not have believed you before tonight.

I’m looking forward to it being over so I can get a sense if I should catch up on season 3+. Waiting served me well with Lost.

Oh, 68% of his songs are about “home”.

Talking Heads were always “thing” growing up, but as I aged and grew into the lifestyle David Byrne sings about so often, I love him, Talking Heads, and Brian Eno more and more and more.

I still don’t understand how famous rockstar David Byrne captures middle-class ennui as well as he does.

Holy cow “he was required to build them, and didn’t stop them, so we think he should be mayor” is such a terrible endorsement. Glad Katie won. Will be skeptical of @cascade.org for years now.

I’m halfway through Alien Earth, and seeing the news about a renewal bums me out. Leaving the story left open for another season usually means an unsatisfying conclusion to the season. We’ll see.
