Well, that was a wild Seinfeld episode.

A specific thing I tried to make happen at Slack was doing side by side previews for previews like this. We actually shipped it! But it seems to have regressed at some point and probably got unshipped.

Sometimes you accidentally lose a pinned tab because you unintentionally navigate to a different site without opening a new tab.

Tab Bag remembers the original pinned site, so you can quickly restore a pinned tab to its default

One annoyance with Chrome's pinned tabs is that they automatically launch when you start up your browser, eating up memory even if you don't open them.

Tab Bag lets you pin tabs as a lightweight placeholder that doesn't launch the pinned site until you click on it. 3/5

Here it is syncing pinned tabs across windows. It's not quite the same as how Arc Favorites live across spaces (each window has its own instance), but it at least provides quick access. You can toggle it on and off per window too. 2/5

Kennedy Park in Hayward was one of my favorites growing up. Snack shop + not too far from restaurants.

Wait, is this a regional jump? Because you can definitely still get a pound of thigh meat in the SF Bay Area for $3.50 (or, more accurately, 2.5lb at $8.73).

Contrast this to the "historic" Murphy Ave. Part of it is yes, the street is closed off now, but also everything is smaller and closer together and it feels nice!

I will say that Sunnyvale hasn't quite nailed mixed use buildings. Like, the residential stuff is fine but the commercial space is just way too big? There's no reason a Melt needs to be this tall.

"The Cylons, a race of cybernetic machines, defeat nearly all of humanity with malware."

"Ah, because they're AIs and thus really good at fucking up computers, right?"

"..."

"They fuck the computers, right?"

I mean, in the example making the rounds today, the guy actually listed multiple companies on his LinkedIn at the same time so ... ask about that? news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4444...

Pet peeve: Why do these water jug things always have the tap slightly above the bottom of the container, so you have to tip it to get the last bit of water?

I appreciate this feature a lot more when dealing with a show that likes to drop three episodes at once on you.

Some LLMs (like ChatGPT and Gemini) can trigger an old fashioned web search which they then summarize.

The ask is that the UI show this as a separate step. In this example, Gemini cites a source but it doesn't tell me the search term (nor does it quote the actual relevant part of the source)

Our setup isn't very conducive to gardening, but kiddo came back from visiting grandparents one day with a bag full of strawberry plants so we made do. First weeks were rough because some animal kept digging them up, but they're doing alright now.
