What a day! The 2nd day of #ABIC_CM2024 flew past! Some highlights include presentations and discussions around microscopy infrastructure, access and advocacy in Africa, and interactive discussions about building visions for the microscopy community & research in Africa.

Umar Muhammad Kundi from BioRTC in Nigeria was the last talk of the afternoon session, talking about the importance of infrastructure and training for building research capacity in Africa. He shared the great access and training opportunities available through BioRTC #ABIC_CM2024

Session 2 highlighting various networks and initiatives in Africa kicked off strong! We heard from Prof Jeremie Zoueu about AFSINET and the Ivorian Initiative. Then Yaw Aniweh from WAMBIAN gave a strong argument for the power of local communities strengthening basic research in Africa #ABIC_CM24 🇨🇮🔬

We’ve just kicked off our 3rd annual Community Meeting in lovely Grand Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire! Excited for two days of updates, ideas, lively discussions, and vision building! #ABIC_CM2024 🔬🌍🇨🇮. What a warm welcome from Prof Inza Koné from CSRS, and a great keynote from Prof Yavo from INSP.
