With Kempe off the board, the next winger in line is #sabrehood winger Alex Tuch. We had projected 7 years, $8.5M in May but much like Kempe it should come in higher. Keeping the same difference in value to Kempe, Tuch's value now is likely 8 years, ~$10M AAV. #NHL

Another extension eligible forward done. Adrian Kempe and the #LAK agree to an 8 year, $10.625M AAV contract. Well above our projection that was calculated in May. However, recent extensions brought the market value up. We expected Kempe to be ~$800k less than Necas and this contract does that.

To be fair, the market hadn't yet shifted up when Stankoven signed his extension July 1st... and Pinto has been relied on a little more heavily (TOI/G, a little more point production)... but man, that Stankoven contract is a great deal for the Hurricanes. #CarolinaCulture #NHL
