With Kempe off the board, the next winger in line is #sabrehood winger Alex Tuch. We had projected 7 years, $8.5M in May but much like Kempe it should come in higher. Keeping the same difference in value to Kempe, Tuch's value now is likely 8 years, ~$10M AAV. #NHL

Another extension eligible forward done. Adrian Kempe and the #LAK agree to an 8 year, $10.625M AAV contract. Well above our projection that was calculated in May. However, recent extensions brought the market value up. We expected Kempe to be ~$800k less than Necas and this contract does that.

Theory: What if the holdup on the Alex Tuch extension with the Buffalo Sabres is simply to see where the team is at mid year/trade deadline? Two options:
1) Contending, signs extension.
2) Not contending, gets traded for futures, returns to the #Sabrehood in free agency.
