Brendon McCullum says England may have trained too hard before the Gabba Test 🗣️
December 7, 2025 at 11:02 AM
Smith just set a trap for Archer and Atkinson and they fell for it so Smith could line up, hook, and sink England. He wanted them to bowl at his head because he knew saw the pitch was leaping off a length. How to get them off that length? Wind them up to bowl short. And they fell for it.

If you're not fighting for your position, you are part of the problem #Salah.

I love him for what he's done for the club, but, as ever, no-one is bigger than a club.

The fact that England were 48-0, then 90-1 and are now 128-6 tells you everything you need to know about where this England team are at mentally. Entirelly feckless.
They've been well and truly Gabba'd.

That is a shocking decision from the umpire. Brook is nowhere near it!

My question is this: Is this the most talented, but most feckless England team to tour Australia?

Sign creative midfielders and strikers, yet create basically nothing over and over again

Liverpool's 23 shots tonight worth 1.37 xG.

0.060 xG/shot

Liverpool's lowest xG/shot in a Premier League game they had 20+ shots in since May 2022 v Southampton (0.054).

Last had lower from 20+ shots at Anfield in Jan 2016 v Arsenal (0.053). #LFC

My 4222 Brazilian tactic with Shimizu S-Pulse (Season 2) — CoffeehouseFM - Football Manager Blogs
I imagine that any view you have on ‘Seleção’ (the Brazilian National Team) would depend on how old you were when you first saw them play.  ‘Boomers’ like my dad’s generation would rave about the...

Lads, do you maybe want to mark some players or at least react to the players and situation around you when defending? Lads...?
I cannot understand what Konate is doing there... mindless.

Cannot understand why Gravenberch didn't close the ball down and just let the PSV player have all the time he needed to ping his teammate a cross to get a shot on goal. Cut it out at source.

There's something quite poetic about Man Utd pumping in crosses into Moyes's Everton side.

One of the all-time most embarrassing of days for England in Test cricket. To fail in the first innings was bad, but to collapse like they have today and then bowl like this whilst seemingly having no positive body language in the field is unforgivable in the first Test of an #Ashes series.

4141 to 4231: my tactic with Shimizu S-Pulse (Season 1) — CoffeehouseFM - Football Manager Blogs
It has been a tremendous season for the newly promoted Shimizu S-Pulse in Japan. By playing a clean slate 4231 tactic we have ended the season with silverware. Today’s blog post focuses on this tact...

We don't think about this enough. I'm not sure you can criticise anyone at Liverpool, because they will be grieving without the time to grieve, surrounded on a constant basis of memories of #20. How do you process the unexpected loss of someone that was so clearly a close friend to so many?

Andy Robertson (BBC): "I've been in bits. I couldn't get my mate Diogo Jota out of my head today. We spoke so much together about the World Cup. We always discussed what it would be like going to this World Cup. I know he'll be somewhere smiling over me tonight." 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There is no way in hell that goal has a 0.18xG. Did you not see how high the lad had to jump to make that contact, never mind then get it on target!?

What's happening to the champions?

I've taken a look at some of the patterns that explain Liverpool's start to 2025-26.

It's a long read on long passes, pressing, possession, set-plays, away form and more - and it's free at the link below. #LFC
