I know it's super important to read the genre you write but when I'm deep in writing mode, it's a struggle to not think "well my writing is better than THIS" or "wow my writing will never be this good" with zero in between.

One of my short stories will be in an anthology next year! First time for me but I feel the bigger achievement is that I managed to write 5k words in first person present tense (instead of my usual 3rd past) 😂 #writingcommunity

in other reading news LOVED The Husbands. Read it in one sitting (minus drive time between hairdressers and home). Laugh out loud funny, seriously scary tense scenes but nostly cosy, heartbreaking, absolute amazing character work. Can't believe this is a debut! #booksky
