Just wanted to recite an old sim that I posted on Twitter, my weird way of reintroducing myself. 😄

Verstappen: "As a pure #F1 driver, I enjoy driving flat out, and at the moment, you cannot drive like that"

He was right, look at Turn 12: LEC and NOR were full-gas for ~300m, yet their cars couldn't exceed 240km/h! 😳

Audi tries to hide their car behind a wall of mechanics every time a photographer approaches the garage. So we took a closer look and discovered interesting slots in the tea tray and a extremely raised up floor lip.

***FIRST LOOK AT 2026 #F1 TELEMETRY***

VER’s top speed was already +24 km/h vs his best 2025 quali lap 😳

Conversely, Stroll barely exceeded 300 km/h due to Honda PU issues - Alonso PTSD incoming ⚠️

VER lapped 4.375s slower than in quali, yet was already gaining time on the two main straights...

Williams have a quite an aggressive floor slot set up ahead of the rear tyre.
Plus, the slotted diffuser opening is apparent here.

At the rear of the car it seems the rear impact structure allows for additional bodywork.
For Ferrari this is a diffuser extension running up to form a monkey seat🐒💺
McLaren simply have a winglet disconnected from the diffuser.
NB: That's a generic car background

Here's a little insight into the #MCL40 rear floor slots, Mcl have a detailed series of three 'L' shaped slots.
These take the high pressure air above the floor and use it to control the rear tyre wake.
Every team will exploit this area
(AMR's set up 🤯)

As Cadillac complete their filming day, we get to see more of the car after the shakedown car was incomplete.
The wheel covers, wakeboards and floor edge detail are now apparent.

Alpine have a unique lay flat rear wing, when used in straight line mode.
Other teams have a DRS style flap that opens upwards.
It has slightly more drag, but the flow reattaches quicker as wing closes to get full downforce into a corner. Giving the driver confidence to close it later

One nice detail on the Ferrari is the inner extension of the diffuser running up the rear impact structure. Plus a little look at the FIA spec outer vanes.

An @Ohlinsracing #F1 spec damper.
F1 dampers used to use fixed valving, swapping the entire unit for a fifferent spec, rather than adjust it
But, with the bouncing problems since 2022, they returned to being adjustable, to react to the cars behaviour through the weekend.

My prediction was right: 2026 #F1 cars will be WAY faster on the straights! 🚀

Ocon reached 355 km/h once he was allowed full deployment, and no evidence of slipstream!
In his best '25 quali lap, he reached 'just' 327km/h - and he mentioned reaching the top speed EARLIER on the straight in '26
