Alrighty, first post while I take a look around... How about the Galilean Hiking series, showing a pair of astronauts exploring the major moons of Jupiter?

For the final day, 24, of #ArtAdventCalendar, I present this illustration which I call Exploration of Amalthea. The latter is a very small moon of Jupiter in a very close orbit. Jupiter would fill half the sky seen from here!

Day 21 of #ArtAdventCallendar.

Here's an animation of an orbital ring. It surrounds the Earth in a continuous loop and could serve as a platform to launch vehicles from low-Earth orbit.

Read alt-text for more details.

A nice Sunset! while the sky wasn't filled with clouds, those that were there were lit by very red rays of Sunlight shining through hundreds of miles of clean air, filtered into nearly pure spectral colors.

For day 8 of #ArtAdventCalendar, I present this animation I did about three years ago, showing a flight through a type of space colony called a Stanford Torus.

#ArtAdventCalendar #SciArt Artwork of the gas-giant exoplanet HD209458b, also known as Osiris. It orbits its star in just 3.5 days at only 1/8 of the Mercury-Sun distance, and is gradually being evaporated away. The system lies 159 light-years away in the constellation Pegasus.

Proxima is the nearest star to the Sun. It is a red dwarf, 1/5 the size of our Sun and 20,000 times dimmer. Here we see it seen from the surface of one of its planets. To the left one can also make out Alpha Centauri, which is a binary star with two Sun-like components.

Another Martian dawn/dusk scene. Same blue sunset, but with Perseverance taking some of the glory.

Repost if you like this. Thank you.

Illustrations done for press releases over the years. Sadly I get these commissions less and less often as AI takes over the world. I worry about my future in this industry. 😟

So a new Fire Emblem set in the Three Houses setting in what I presume is the distant past? I look forward to it. That ancient high-tech background was part of the inspiration for my take on Edelgard's armor and weapon a coupe years ago.

Edelgard: Fire Emblem 1501, Jett Furr
I thought it'd be fun to take some video game armor and see how to translate it into more real-world-like designs while still reading as the original character. Today, we have Edelgard from Fire Emble...

I like No Man's Sky, and the corvettes were added while I was already on an FTL kick. So I prototyped a Federation Cruiser in creative mode. Good times, and I hope more parts get added. =)

Next FTL: Faster than Light ship I've done a take on: the Federation Scout. This model isn't as detailed as the hero ship, but I still wanted to give it its own scene. Here a trio of scouts chase Rebel drones out of an asteroid field to protect a hidden base.

NEW: The White House wants to kill off Juno, NASA's mission to uncover Jupiter's secrets. Fortunately, its legacy is clear.

Juno's a scientist, but also an artist: it revealed Jupiter as a living van Gogh painting hanging in the sky.

Been getting back into Blender, and here's one result: my take on the Kestrel from the 2012 game FTL: Faster than Light.
The Kestrel is the only 3D element, everything else is painted in CSP. The Rebel ships are edited sprites from the game.
