That said, it's quite pleasing to look at! I wouldn't call this place cozy, but I would be happy to spend time in it.

This does not feel cozy to me. My purely subjective sense is that something is "cozy" if most of the space is occupied by things that are warm and welcoming. All the air, distance, and dead space in the streets and between buildings prevent me from cozy here.

FWIW, I do see a lot of musing among bloggers still (check out the bearblog.dev recent post listing for innumerable examples). There's just no attention-driven environment that selects for such an approach. Which is definitely a problem.
