Unfortunately, many well-known movie actors from the classic Hollywood era performed in blackface in films made during that era. For example, Bing Crosby performed in blackface in not just one, two, three, but six different movies!

I am a big Buster Keaton fan but I don't like the fact that he or other actors wore blackface in so many of his films. In Playhouse (1921), he portrayed nine members of a minstrel show in blackface. Yuck!
