John McKay worked at Marylebone in the 1980s but at weekends he was a driver on the Bluebell Railway in Sussex. A gentleman of the first order, it was my privilege to join him on the footplate for a day.

One of the challenges of fixing NHS dental care is that few of the directors/managers based in in ICBs (responsible for commissioning dental services) have much understanding of dental providers and their NHS contract. Dental is now crudely lumped together with pharmacy and opticians (POD).

It may not be perfect, and like other taxation/regulated insurance funded health care systems, it is under strain, but I love the simple statement on the cover of this document. To my knowledge, nobody has yet been bankrupted by having to pay for their #NHS #healthcare.
