PET "fizzy" drinks loses 15 percent of its fizz in 12 weeks. The Coca Cola Company has a shelf life fixed as a function of the bottle size; 6 months: for PET bottles >1 litre; 5 months: for PET bottles <1 litre; 12 months: for glass bottles. Depends on storage temp: higher the temp the higher loss.

/4 done by previous gov with Oz and NZ which will have damaged the farming industry far far far more than this tax change which resulted in poorer quality, cheaper food imports. There were no demonstrations as a result of the poorer replacement for CAP payments promised. etc 🤷‍♂️

What is clear, everybody, well apaprt from those "at it", agrees that the agri land IHT loop hole is driving up land prices beyond economic returns for average farmers and depriving the public of IHT like any other "business" or assets.There were no farm protests at the highly damaging "Free trade"

/3 are buying up the land and making money/more efficient/more returns because of economies of scale. So what they are saying is, that by getting out of farming, we will have more food on the shelves and cheaper? So is it better to have fewer bigger farms? Is it right to pass on without IHT? .....

/2 between land values (estate) and the income that can be generated. Something is inflating the asset value and it's not returns from farming. Secondly, farmers are saying on one hand no farmers no food on shelves, yet they also claim they will have to sell land to pay the IHT and it big farms...

As someone who was brought up in the countryside, my first badminton partner was a a farmer, taught how to whistle by youth one man and his dog winner, my sister lives next to a farm and my mum on a farm hamlet I want to hear facts on both sides. The difficulty for me is to solve the disconnect 1/
