This. Nobody's perfect in BattleTech, and while there are some out and out villains(Amaris, Blakists, etc), even the most outwardly appealing faction has a skeleton or ten in their closets.

I would agree. Marik is just...kinda there for a lot of the early fiction, and House Kurita starts getting a redemption arc with the introduction of Theodore, but you don't see the Capellans pivot until the late 3050s.

I highly recommend the Capellan handbook for an unbiased look, though.

True, and while many of Romano's actions post-Warrior series can be attributed to the FedSuns, it doesn't mitigate just how capriciously cruel a lot of them were. To be clear, I don't agree with the "Cappies bad" stereotype, but I see where it comes from.
