The circumstances in 1998 were significantly different than they are today, but history is full of people that turned out differently than those that put them in power expected. That‘s why political leaders should not stay in power for too long and elections reign supreme as means of regime change.
The West has found a “moderate” Bosnian Serb to topple an entrenched strongman and his extremist governing clique.
It’s 1998, and their man is Milorad Dodik.
So, what have those pushing Cvijanovic to seize the reins of power in Banja Luka learned from their last such effort?

The circumstances in 1998 were significantly different than they are today, but history is full of people that turned out differently than those that put them in power expected. That‘s why political leaders should not stay in power for too long and elections reign supreme as means of regime change.
The Kovacevic decision always seemed problematic as it used one's active voting rights to rule on issues of systemic discrimination within state structures. The decision was normatively correct but legally flawed, IMO. The mostly political process of its reversal, however, is much more problematic.

Eine wirklich notwendige Ausbilungskombination. Verwaltungen müssen heute immer vernetzter denken und sich nicht nur mit der Politik, sondern auch mit dem Recht auskennen. Sehr begrüssenswert!

Eine wirklich notwendige Ausbilungskombination. Verwaltungen müssen heute immer vernetzter denken und sich nicht nur mit der Politik, sondern auch mit dem Recht auskennen. Sehr begrüssenswert!
Eine sehr gut gemachte Einordnung der aktuellen Ereignisse in Bosnien, absolut hörenswert.
Wieder Ärger in Bosnien: „Serbenführer“ Dodik droht mit Abspaltung – auch, weil er zu Haft und Politikverbot verurteilt wurde.
Trotz internationalem Haftbefehl reist er aber unbehelligt nach Moskau und Israel – in Deutschland hingegen hat er Einreiseverbot. ballaballa-balkan.de/episode/urte...

Urteil gegen Dodik oder In Bosnien wird's ungemütlich
Milorad Dodik regiert fröhlich weiter, obwohl er seit einem Monat ein verurteilter Straftäter ist - denn aber niemand festnimmt.
