This elevator is the main northern entrance for many residents, not to mention wheelchair users and baby stroller pushers. Hopefully a train time information screen can also be installed given the high traffic here!

Succession is a show about how car traffic is bad (you can lose your board vote because of it) and how rich people still have to abide by bus lane rules (there are prominent aerial shots showing the Roys in their limo driving next to bus lanes)

Idk enough about London and 3.5% fare evasion already seems really low, but you wouldn’t expect enforcement to directly pay for itself. Enforcement should be deterring fare evasion, which means the system collects fares instead of penalties.

If city is concerned about juvenile crime and speeding, they could make apps slow down bikes only for people under 18. The companies have our ages from the IDs we make them scan.

3 options

(1) A state like Texas raises the gas tax to match federal spending to continue building as is

(2) A state like New York raises the gas tax to match federal spending but changes the 80-20 rule

(3) A state like Massachusetts charges less gas tax and so doesn’t spend as much as becore

Why can’t we eminent domain thousands of people’s homes for a highway expansion but can’t eminent domain moving a utility or getting a portion of unused freight ROW?

‪This is good work, but the parallel tends assumption really needs a robustness check. Most importantly: how much noise is there in the Waze data year over year?‬

‪While I’m sure congestion pricing reduces traffic, it’s not clear to me it does so by this amount.‬

What is “systems integration” in this context?

Can’t wait for your next book to show a map of Madison with even more frequent all-day transit lines filled in!

Albeit I did go in early May, which is just before tourist season kicks up in full gear.

Sure, yes in principal. But Europe does not seem far from the U.S. in terms of farebox recovery.

This wiki page shows U.S. numbers primarily during COVID but just looking at the EU numbers not during COVID, you can eyeball that it’s similar. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farebox...
