wrote her Wikipedia biography: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jill_Vi... which I checked today to make sure it's still there. I was saddened to find that her entry has been edited to insert the date of her death.

No cushion here, not even for a month-with 3 kids in tow, we can just sell our house and move to Bosnia

I don't think anyone is unaware. Most people (young PIs) I know that don't think their labs will weather the next few years are trying to run their labs while looking for alternatives and making sure their people get paid. Spending time on anything but that may seem wasteful

Don't let the title fool you-this position is for someone interested in developmental systems neuroscience. Successful candidate will join a project that studies intrinsic and extrinsic factors that guide the patterning of activity in the neonate brain (mouse and human)

Thank you!! To put things in context, in the last 5 years, I applied for 37 funding opportunities (according to my admins)-I never counted and the number was eye opening even for me. Out of 3 R01s that scored within a fundable range, only 1 was eventually funded

Please reach out via email or DM for more info and stay on the lookout for other, MSc and PhD-level positions

Technique-wise, we are a pretty diverse bunch, with expertise in molecular biology/biochemistry, in vivo and ex vivo imaging and ephys. While some experience in any of these is nice, we are no stranger to training people from scratch

The successful candidate would join a project that studies perinatal brain development in mice and occasionally in infants, and the role of serotonin and other neuromodulators in the patterning of neonate brain activity
