It's all zajal, the one you shared starts as abou l zolof than goes into mijana; the one I shared is 3ateba. Zajal is extremely rich

It probably was confined to Beirut and the cities though, so probably our folks in the South didn't know the game + it seems like it might have been associated with casino games and therefore avoided

I think even earlier, the Italian article says the late 60'. I now for sure that it was a thing in Lebanon and the game is called flipper, I looked it up on X (فليبر + some Leb specific words) and found interesting tweets like this one; the Piccadilly opened in the 60' and closed down in 75

I can't see how this meaning could've developed from the Arabic root to be honest.
In Italian, they say "andare in tilt" to express a similar meaning..
So I guess this word might come from the TILT error mechanism in pinball machines! When triggered, the whole machine stops working! Wild if true!
