Absolutely--I'm really interested in how to recover these ideas for generative purposes

That's brilliant. I should try this. It only happens accidentally for me. For example, there's a movie called Lonesome, from 1928. I saw the Three Reasons trailer from the Criterion Collection and it produced a very strong image that has inspired at least 3 stories. I avoid it so I can milk it more

There's no real way to anticipate that one, for sure

Right, this is what I'm thinking about: when I get a vague, yet somehow quite appealing "dream" of what the thing might be, just from a few words and images. Then how they get overwritten without our even being particularly aware of them when we experience the real thing. I always want to remember

There's a movie that I've resisted watching for years because I saw a Criterion Three Reasons video for it that provoked such a strong idea of its potential that I keep coming back to it and finding new images for stories. I don't want to lose it

I thought I could no longer be enraged by stupid slop titles but American Canto has me livid

Check out the old Lafcadio Hearn place. And by check out, I mean look at how weirdly it sits there on its own sandwiched by two perpetually busy streets

Completely agree

That’s how I did it too
