When you are a pedestrian, you simply start walking across the crosswalk. You do not wave cars on or pretend you are a traffic cop. When you are driving, you stop at the crosswalk when a pedestrian is crossing it. Related: you also don't wave other cars on at stops, you are also not a traffic cop
