I still don’t know how I feel about Interstellar overall as a film but I have to be honest with myself when I say seeing the docking scene in 70mm IMAX was mesmerizing.

A massive, aurora-like dragon with multiple wings drifts across the Northern skies above a snowy landscape. Behind it trails the aurora borealis. Far below on the ground, some polar bears look up at it. A huge, creepy sea monster lurks menacingly beneath the surface of a subterranean lake. All around it are the ruins of once futuristic ships. This is the giganath from the Arrhenius TTRPG. A drawing of Jörmungandr – Also known as the world serpent, Jörmungandr is from Norse mythology. The colossal snake looms over a viking who looks like an ant in comparison. Jörmungandr’s body loops and twists far off into the distant mountains. A drawing of a creature known as a “Moonstalker.” This is a creature from the “Flowerpunk” webcomic. The drawing takes place at night and the canvas is dominated by a navy blue colour scheme. In the foreground are some cliffs and tress. Off in the distance is a grassy plain with a river running through it. Even further into the distance, the moonstalker strides across the landscape, its tail stretching off far into the distance. The moon-shaped structure on its back climbs high into the sky, lit up by the light of the moon. There is a small mountain range along the horizon and some nimbus clouds billow up into a starry sky.

a three armed three legged three eyed alien and its human companion (in matching blue uniforms) climb a grass covered hill, weapons drawn warily scanning the horizon. the sky is purple and orange, as if near sunset a purple alien looks up at incoming spaceships whose burning engines light up the night sky. on the back of the purple alien's head is a single eye which looks down at alien's tiny offspring, sitting on its shoulder, looking up at sky in wonder and terror. a monopod alien has a drink with its bearded, gray haired human companion on an outcropping of a building overlooking a very dusty and hazy street. monopod aliens hop past. a space ship (that suspiciously resembles a molex plug) flies towards the blue moon of a gas giant that is not unlike Jupiter in cloud bands.
