Supporter of #nffc and Manic Street Preachers.
Passionate about music, football, tech and politics.
I didn't enjoy Crash as much stylistically, so I was thrilled that Charli managed to break through into the mainstream with a record which is true to her roots.
BRAT is deeply personal, well-produced, stylish and crammed full of bangers; and arguably a cultural landmark.

The standard themes of alcohol, football, self-pity and heartache are all present, and the usual cutting wit, but LC! also return with a real fire and anger this time. It is refreshing when so many bands steer clear of politics. The songs are thrilling and catchy.

Probably my favourite Cure album. Robert Smith's yearning vocals are timeless. The heartfelt lyrics cover aging and mortality. The instrumentation has room to breathe with long intros, creating an atmosphere to match the songs - haunting, beautiful and dark.

Packed with great tunes, incredible vocals and fierce lyrics from start to finish, 27 tracks doesn't feel long. The covers and guests are thoughtfully chosen. Bey hasn't so much created a country concept album, she has torn the genre up and made it her own.

I have always loved Lenker's songwriting but usually prefer her work with Big Thief... however this record might be her best. It manages to combine some of her most personal and affecting lyrics with a sense of fun and accessibility.
