Would any international conventions provide any cause?
On what basis? Diplomatic relations are best maintained wherever possible, even with adversaries. The line is usually drawn if the foreign state conducts a hostile act in the receiving state, as occurred here.

Recently went on an EV road trip to see the QLD channel country in bloom after the floods and recent rains. Noted that to get to his office in Roma, David Littleproud has to pass the Dulacca wind farm, which coexists nicely with farmland and bushland - with benefits to the site owner and community.

In theory community batteries make sense. But BTM battery owners provide the same service. Typically use the grid when RE% is high (dragging -ve prices up floor, avoiding waste) and not use the grid when RE% is low or congested. Provides price benefit for all households.

To get power bills down, your suburb needs a battery
A power company wants to install hundreds of local batteries. Bureaucracy is getting in the way.

For those feeling blue (or a little green) about Labor being re-elected, some good news (to me). My 7 year old home battery will now be joined by another at a very affordable cost and it will be filled by cheap solar electricity produced today rather than expensive nuclear power in 20 years time.

EDF, the company with 56 nuclear power plants, is crab walking from its current project and it’s next project. EDF was nationalised for the same reason government ownership of nuclear “makes sense" in Australia, the deep pockets of taxpayers.

FBT exemption for plug in hybrids should be allowed to expire. Hybrids are the worst of all worlds: too little battery, all of the maintenance of an ICE vehicle. Better to get EVs on the road asap because that’s the fastest way to get them to the 2nd hand market. www.ato.gov.au/businesses-a...

WA Home Battery Rebate: If re-elected, Labor Government would make available a $5000 rebate for a home battery; $7500 for regional WA customers of Horizon Power.

Labor’s battery rebate plan could slash power bills by $1500
The Premier will tell voters his Government, if re-elected, would make available a $5000 rebate for households to buy and install a home battery or $7500 for Horizon Power customers in regional WA.

@readfearn.bsky.social your article today says that Tristan Edis has the coalition claiming $1B per GW for nuclear. Is this the correct number?

If anyone is still in doubt as to why shipping liquid hydrogen is not like shipping LNG, and never will be - why it will always cost at least 5x per unit energy - they should read this piece from two years ago. The laws of physics have not changed since then :-) about.bnef.com/blog/liebrei...

Are there any time of use electricity retail offers in the NEM that can beat Synergy in Western Australia? Synergy rates encourage customers not to install solar by setting a tariff of 1/4 flat tariff (8c/kWh) during the day seemingly to help a system with a high penetration of rooftop solar.

A while ago I estimated what a nuclear roll-out might look like for Australia's NEM.
It involved 2,400 TWh of gas to fill the gap between coal retirement & nuclear generation.
It also has 3.5x more cumulative emissions than the ISP.
The cumulative cost to FY2052 of gas & emissions are ~$630b!
