The reasoning is, interesting, but is it worse that the council isn’t empowered to make these decisions based on whatever notions they have? They are there to make a judgement on a narrow set of parameters. So it just costs time and money. But it keeps happening.
A solar farm that could have powered “all the households in Witney” has been refused permission by West Oxfordshire District Council. Councillors were concerned about the risk of fire, one drawing parallels to the 1966 Aberfan disaster: “Until someone can guarantee it is safe, I can’t support it.”

If the only ettiquette is that which we make for ourselves the slide to oblivion will be RAPID. This is the stuff that stops good people shanking each other.
People say that Bluesky is an echo chamber, but it manages to contain both people who think it is a great offense to expect anyone to cook food at home and people who think it is offensive to say you shouldn't bring your own homecooked food to eat in a restaurant.

I’m now excitedly waiting to see Marie live tweeting Horus Heresy (I haven’t read any of it it would be handy). Also decided on my 45th to spend a fortune on paint and plastic for the first time in 30 years.
