I really want to get in the habit of more intentionally sharing my thoughts on what I read and watch this year, so I’ll be writing reviews of the books I read over on Goodreads and Fabled.

Don’t think anyone has inspired my humble creative endeavors more than David Lynch. RIP to a giant.

David Lynch gave us the language we needed to better articulate the indescribable strangeness of our shared reality. “Lynchian” is so overused because it’s a viscerally understandable word without any known synonyms. I can’t imagine a more beautiful artistic legacy than that.

Haven’t posted much but have enjoyed the most restful holiday vacation for two weeks. Spent it renovating the loft into a library, started reading The Will of the Many, and watching movies and watching Gilmore Girls with my fiancée.

This week, I picked up the following DC comics;

- Absolute Wonder Woman #2
- Action Comics #1077

- Detective Comics #1091
- Justice League Unlimited #1
- Nightwing #120

All good, but the favorite this week was Nightwing #120 by Dan Watters and Dexter Soy.

Despite its problems, I had a good time watching Wicked. Not a very long writeup from me on letterboxd for this one.

A ★★★½ review of Wicked (2024)
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s enjoyable performances smoothed over my qualms with other facets of this.

After wrapping up my first Brandon Sanderson series earlier this year with the Mistborn trilogy, I thought I’d take a break for the year before diving into any more of the massive doorstoppers he’s written.

Yet here I am, on the second book of the Stormlight Archives. Completely engrossed.

Looking for things to post about so here’s a look at some of my favorite movies and last four watched. Really enjoyed watching both ANORA and CONCLAVE, in particular. If I get into the habit of posting here then I may be inspired again to start posting brief thoughts on new releases.
