Keeping this account as positive as I can by focusing on things I enjoy talking about namely:

Habs
Alouettes
Montreal Victoire
Video games
Montreal Xpress
A good NFL team that wouldn't seem like bandwagon jumping
What happened to
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

So I'm with you three on not trading Fowler but our goalie pipeline doesn't end with him. Quentin Miller is doing quite well at U of Denver. He's 8-4-1 with a 1.96 GAA and 0.928 save percentage. He's still a ways off so the timeline isn't ideal but he's got potential. He's also local which is nice

I'm staying optimistic 3-0-1 only lose to the Jets

It's a shockingly positive article about a 7-2 loss and completely correct too. As good as the original Suzuki line was teams were figuring it out. On his new line Slaf is now the vet and taking charge of that line instead of deferring to more experienced linemates.

I thought it was that you both get a penalty and lose your timeout if you lose the challenge
November 30, 2025 at 4:11 AM
We lost our timeout on the failed challenge for goalie interference in the first

I'd love to see the habs get one more before the period is over. 2 goals is a doable gap in the third

People aren't very smart and easily tricked by simple verbiage differences.

Do you think this is a sign of Montembeault turning a corner and getting back to his typical form or a blip?
November 29, 2025 at 1:01 AM
I also like that there's at least one penalty in the game the refs can't "I didn't see it" their way out of
November 28, 2025 at 7:36 PM
I can live with puck over the glass being a penalty since before teams would keep flinging it out of play to protect a late lead but the video reviews for offsides that end up being frame by frame reviews of something that happened 20+seconds earlier and didn't impact the play is insane

And that's just a couple examples. There's as many reasons to vote for someone as there are votes cast. Your reason to vote a certain way isn't the reason everyone uses even if you believe that's how it ought to be. It's actually a deeply personal thing for a lot of people not just platforms
November 28, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Well first of all you're not seeing a sample of people that'd represent the millions more votes they'd need to form government. Secondly that's not the only reason people pick who they vote for. Sometimes it's to force a change in leadership or avoid someone they think would be bad for the country
November 28, 2025 at 11:31 AM
Beats me but that's how this country has voted in its entire existence. Probably just the general disposition of the country. There's never been a left leaning party that's garnered enough cross country appeal to form government
November 28, 2025 at 4:27 AM
We functionally do have only 2 parties that form government, the liberals and conservatives under various party names. Everyone else is stuck hoping to be the balance of power in a minority government. If that's what you want your MP to be go for it but they'll do more for you in the governing party
November 28, 2025 at 2:28 AM
For me it'd be my MP changing parties. I have a fantastic liberal MP who I plan on voting for until he retires because I trust him to well represent my best interests and he's not afraid to not vote with the party. I haven't been terribly impressed by Carney but I'd much rather him than Poilievre

The west is a little more clear but the east has 10 out of 16 teams within 2 points of each other. The most we can say about the east is that the devils, canes, and lightning are probably in the rest are a crapshoot

This season is going to be one where the American Thanksgiving rule of thumb isn't going to apply very well with how tightly packed everyone is
